Frequently asked questions

Does heat protectant spray actually work?

Yes, and the mechanism is straightforward: it forms a thin film that slows how fast heat reaches the cortex and spreads it more evenly, so you get fewer hot spots where the cuticle blisters. It does not make hair heat-proof — it buys you margin, which is exactly what a 400°F flat iron takes away.

How do I apply heat protectant properly?

On damp hair before blow-drying, or on dry hair before an iron — but never on hair that is still wet, and never straight before an iron while the spray is still damp, because trapped water steams the cuticle. Mist evenly section by section; a soaked patch protects no better than an even one.

Do I need it if I only blow-dry?

Yes. A dryer on high sits around 300°F at the nozzle, which is more than enough to lift and roughen the cuticle over months of daily use. The damage from blow-drying is slower than from an iron, not smaller.

Can I use heat protectant every day?

Yes — that is what it is for. Choose a spray rather than a cream for daily use, since it builds up less. If your hair starts to feel coated, clarify once a week.

About this collection

A straightener runs at up to 230°C. Hair starts to lose moisture and protein structure well below that, which is why daily heat styling shows up as dullness and breakage months later. The two-phase leave-in conditioners here form a barrier that takes the initial heat while the amino acids underneath hold the strand together.

Shake before use — the oil phase and water phase separate on purpose, and you need both. Spray on damp, towel-dried hair, comb through, then dry or style. Applying to soaking-wet hair dilutes it; applying to bone-dry hair before heat is better than nothing but works less well. Keratin, argan, biotin, collagen and Milk Therapy versions all protect equally; choose by what else the hair needs.
