Which of these actually contains keratin
Worth knowing before you pick, because the labels are not all the same. Nine of the twelve carry hydrolysed keratin — keratin broken into fragments small enough to sit in the cuticle rather than rinse off:

The original Keratin Shampoo and Keratin Hair Mask work differently: they are built on hydrolysed corn, wheat and soy proteins. Plant proteins condition and add body, and on fine hair many people prefer them because keratin can feel heavy. They are a protein treatment rather than a keratin one. If keratin specifically is what you are after, take the leave-in, the Milk Keratin Shampoo or the Bond Care line.
The order to use them in

- Treat — a mask once or twice a week, left on 5-10 minutes
- Leave in — the spray on damp hair, every wash, before anything else

Protein is not something to pile on. Two protein steps per wash is plenty; more than that and hair can feel stiff and dry rather than repaired. If that happens, drop back to a plain moisturising conditioner for a week.

What does a keratin treatment actually do?
It fills gaps in the cuticle with protein fragments so the strand is smoother and less porous. It is cosmetic and it washes out over several washes — it does not permanently change the hair, and it is not the same as a salon keratin smoothing service.
How often should I use a keratin product?
A leave-in can be used every wash. A mask once or twice a week is enough. Two protein steps per wash is the practical ceiling; beyond that hair often feels stiff rather than repaired.
Can keratin make hair feel worse?
Yes, if you overdo it. Hair that has had too much protein feels rough, dry and snaps more easily. The fix is to stop the protein steps and use a plain moisturising conditioner for a week or two, then reintroduce one step at a time.
Does every product with Keratin in the name contain keratin?
