Bleach, permanent colour and repeated heat break the disulphide bonds that hold a strand together. Where each one belongs
Bond repair — early, and rarely
Before the protein routine, not after it. Rebuilding protein on top of broken bonds gives you stiff hair that still breaks. Follow the pack for frequency.
Serum — last, on dry hair
Two or three drops for mid-length hair, rubbed between the palms, then the ends. On wet hair it dilutes; at the roots it looks greasy within the hour.
Oil — after a leave-in, not instead of one
Oil seals moisture in, it does not add it. Used alone on dry hair it can lock the dryness in.

Do serums repair damaged hair?
No. Finishing serums coat the hair — they change how it looks and feels, which is genuinely useful, but they do not rebuild anything. Repair comes from protein treatments and bond repair, which work on the hair itself.
When do I apply a serum — wet or dry hair?
Dry, after styling, as the last step. Applied to wet hair it dilutes and you use twice as much for half the effect.
