Hair gels.
Colour-coded by hold. Once you know the code, stop guessing.
The aqua gel waxes are one formula family at four strengths, and the lid colour tells you which is which: orange, blue, red, then deep hold for thick hair. All of them are water-based, which means they wash out with shampoo and can be reworked with damp hands — the practical difference from an oil-based pomade.

A firm, reliable hold in a water-based gel wax with a natural shine — strong enough for structure, light enough to stay comfortable.
Who it's for: short to medium hair and everyday styles that need to stay put through work and weather, on hair that finds the strongest formulas too heavy.
How to use: a small amount on dry hair, warmed until clear between the palms, then worked through from the back forward. Reshape with damp fingertips during the day if you need to.
What you'll notice: hold that lasts without stiffness or flaking, and hair that still moves. Washes out with shampoo and water.
Extra strong hold with a clean, high-shine finish — the everyday member of the Morfose gel wax range. Water-based, non-greasy, and it does not leave the white flaking that alcohol-heavy gels do.
Who it's for: normal to thick hair and styles that need real hold without going fully rigid. A good starting point if you are not sure which strength you need.
How to use: a pea-sized amount on dry hair, emulsified in your palms first, then worked through and shaped. Build up in layers rather than applying a lot at once.
What you'll notice: definition that holds without the helmet feel, and no residue on the scalp. One ordinary wash removes it.
Ultra strong hold in a water-based gel wax, with a wet-look shine. Firm enough for structured styles, but reworkable with damp fingers if you want to change your mind an hour later.
Who it's for: spikes, quiffs and defined shapes on normal to thick hair — anything that needs to stay exactly where you put it.
How to use: a pea to hazelnut-sized amount, rubbed between your palms until clear, applied to dry hair. Shape while it is still tacky; once it sets it holds.
What you'll notice: a glossy finish with serious staying power, no flakes and no crunch. Washes out with plain shampoo.
A deep-hold water-based gel wax made for hair that shrugs off lighter products. Thick, coarse and heavy hair needs more grip to stay shaped, and this is the one in the range built for it.
Who it's for: thick or coarse hair, longer styles that need weight and control, and anyone who finds normal wax gives up by midday.
How to use: warm a generous amount between your palms until it runs clear, then work it through dry hair from root to tip so the weight is distributed evenly rather than sitting in one place.
What you'll notice: control that lasts through the day on hair that usually resists it, with shine rather than a matte finish. Rinses away cleanly.

The firmest hold in the Morfose gel wax range, finished with high shine. It is water-based, so it sets like a gel but stays workable like a wax, and it rinses out cleanly with no flaking or white residue.
Who it's for: slicked-back and sharply defined styles that have to hold all day, on medium to thick hair. If you want texture rather than a set shape, the matte waxes suit you better.
How to use: a small amount on dry or barely damp hair, warmed between your palms until it turns clear, then worked from the back forward. Add a second pass rather than starting with too much.
What you'll notice: a firm, glossy finish that survives wind and a full day of wear. Water-based, so one wash removes it — no need for a clarifying shampoo.
The colour code
Water-based means reworkable: damp your hands and you can reshape the style without adding more product.
| If your hair… | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday hold, still touchable | Super Hold — orange$14.95 | The starting point. Enough for a normal day, soft enough to run your hands through. |
| Hold that survives wind and a commute | Extra Strong — blue$14.95 | One step up, with glycerin in the base so it does not set dry and dusty. |
| Spiky, structured, stays where you put it | Ultra Strong — red$14.95 | The firmest of the colour-coded three. Use less than you would with the orange. |
| Thick or coarse hair that eats product | Deep Hold$14.95 | Made for hair with enough weight to defeat a normal gel. Start here if the others slide out by midday. |
| Maximum hold with a wet-look finish | Maximum Hold & High Shine$13.95 | Hold and shine together, for slicked and defined styles rather than matte texture. |
| Classic wet-look, and you want a big bottle | Ossion Strong Hold Gel$20.95 · 25.36 fl oz | The men’s line gel and by far the largest bottle here — five times the volume of a wax tub. |
Three rules
Emulsify before it touches your hair
Rub it between your palms until it turns clear. Applied straight from the tub it clumps, and clumps read as greasy.
Dry hair, back to front
Water plus a water-based gel means a weaker hold. Work from the back forward so the front gets the least.
Rework with damp hands, not more gel
This is the advantage of a water-based formula. Wet your fingertips and reshape instead of layering a second application.

About this collection
Six gels. Five are the Morfose gel wax range, one is Ossion for men.
Morfose gel wax — 5.92 fl oz, colour-coded by strength: Orange (super hold), Blue (extra strong), Red (ultra strong), plus Deep Hold for thick hair and Maximum Hold & High Shine. Water-based, so they wash out with shampoo and do not need a remover.
Ossion Strong Hold Gel — 25.36 fl oz, the barber size, built for a wet look that stays. Acrylates/methacrylamide copolymer rather than the gel wax base.
One thing worth knowing: the Orange gel wax contains parabens (methyl, ethyl, propyl). The other four do not.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a hair gel and a gel wax?
In this range they are the same water-based family — the tubs are called gel waxes because they behave like a wax in the hand but rinse out like a gel. The practical points are that they wash out with one shampoo and can be reshaped with damp hands.
Will hair gel flake?
Flaking is nearly always too much product, or gel applied on top of another product that had not dried. Use a pea for short hair, emulsify it first, and let anything underneath dry.
Which colour is the strongest?
Red is the firmest of the three colour-coded waxes: orange is super hold, blue is extra strong, red is ultra strong. Deep Hold sits outside that scale and is built for thick or coarse hair.
Can I use gel on curly hair?
Yes. Apply to damp hair and scrunch rather than raking, then leave it to dry undisturbed. Once dry, scrunch again to break the cast — that is what gives definition without crunch.
