Conditioners & Masks

Conditioners, masks & leave-ins

Conditioners and masks.
Three different jobs, not three names for one.

A rinse-out conditioner closes the cuticle after washing. A mask is a weekly treatment that sits longer and does the repair. A leave-in stays on and keeps working until the next wash. Most routines need two of the three, and the choice depends on what your hair is short of.

Find your hair, then your step

Ranges are matched: each mask has a leave-in built on the same base, so the two steps build on each other.

Which one do you actually need?

1

Conditioner — every wash

Rinse-out, one to two minutes. Closes the cuticle so hair combs and dries smoother. Mid-length to ends; on the roots it flattens fine hair.

2

Mask — once or twice a week

Longer contact, richer base. This is the step that does the repair; using it every wash will not speed anything up and can leave hair limp.

3

Leave-in — every wash, no rinse

On damp hair after towel drying. Protects through drying and styling and keeps working until the next wash.

Not quite what you needed?

About this collection

Conditioning splits into two jobs, and this collection covers both. Rinse-out masks — Milk Therapy, keratin, argan, biotin, collagen, quinoa and hemp — sit on the hair for a few minutes and do the deep repair work. Two-phase leave-in conditioners are sprayed on damp hair and stay there, detangling as you comb and shielding the lengths through blow-drying and straightening.

If hair snaps when you comb it, start with a mask once or twice a week. If it tangles, frizzes or meets heat daily, the leave-in matters more. Most damaged hair needs both: the mask rebuilds, the leave-in protects what the mask repaired. Match the active to the problem — keratin for over-processed hair, argan for dryness, biotin for fine strands, silver for brassy blonde and grey.

Frequently asked questions

What makes a good hair conditioner?

Three things: it detangles without you fighting the comb, it leaves hair soft when dry rather than only when wet, and it matches your hair's actual need. Damaged hair wants protein, dry hair wants oils and humectants, fine hair wants the lightest formula that still detangles.

Where should I apply conditioner?

From the ears down. The ends are the oldest part of your hair and need the most help; the scalp already produces its own oil. Conditioner applied at the roots is the single most common reason hair goes flat by lunchtime.

Do I need both a conditioner and a mask?

Yes, if your hair is dry, coloured or heat-styled. Conditioner is the every-wash step. A mask is the weekly deeper treatment. They are not interchangeable — using only a mask leaves hair over-conditioned and using only a conditioner never gets ahead of the damage.

How long should I leave conditioner on?

One to three minutes is enough for a rinse-out conditioner; that is how long the cuticle takes to close. Leaving it longer does very little. If you want more, you want a mask, not more time.
