Styling products.
Start with the finish you want.
Thirty-eight products, and they sort into four jobs: hold (wax, gel, spray), volume (mousse, powder), texture (sea salt) and finish (shine spray, perfume mist). Pick the job first — most styling disappointment comes from using a hold product where a texture product was needed.

The same milk-protein hair mousse, in a warm chocolate scent. The formula is identical to the classic — lightweight volume with conditioning built in — the difference is what your hair smells like for the rest of the day.
Who it’s for: anyone who already likes the Milk Therapy mousse and wants the scent, and anyone who finds standard styling products smell strongly of alcohol.
How to use: shake, work a golf-ball-sized amount through damp roots and lengths, then blow-dry with a round brush, lifting at the root.
Choosing between them: hold, volume and conditioning are the same in both. Pick the classic for a neutral finish, this one if you want the scent to linger.
Same formula as the original mousse in the Milk Therapy range, different scent.
Extra Hold is the step up from everyday: a barber-grade wax for cuts that have to keep their shape from the first comb-through to the end of a long shift. It holds structured styles — sharp partings, defined fringes, disconnected cuts — without the crunch or flaking that comes from stiff, resin-heavy formulas. The finish is shiny and healthy-looking rather than greasy.
Who it's for: normal to slightly thick hair, styles that need real definition, and long days where the hair cannot drop by the afternoon.
How to use: warm a pea-sized amount between your palms until it goes clear, then work through dry hair, shaping as you go. For more lift at the root, apply from underneath rather than on top.
In the range: Extra is the middle of the Ossion hold scale — Medium → Extra → Ultra → Mega. Choose Ultra if your style still moves, or Medium if this feels like more hold than you need.

What is actually in it
Most sea salt sprays are water, salt and a hold polymer. Read the full list on this one and there is more going on. Sodium chloride sits second, so the salt is not a trace amount; VP/VA copolymer sits third and is the film former that holds the shape you scrunch in. After that come three hydrolysed proteins — corn, wheat and soy — four seaweed extracts (Codium tomentosum, Ecklonia cava, Gelidium cartilagineum, Hizikia fusiforme) and five mineral ferments carrying copper, iron, magnesium, silicon and zinc.
Glycerin, propylene glycol and butylene glycol are in there as humectants. That combination is the point: salt pulls moisture out of the strand, and those are what stop the finish going brittle. There are no silicones in the formula.
This one or the Ossion version?
The formula is the same. Ingredients one through twenty-nine are identical on both labels — same salt level, same copolymer, same proteins, seaweeds and ferments. What differs is the scent. This version leans lighter and greener, and shares the bitter orange and lemon peel oils that sit on top of both. The Ossion Sea Salt Spray takes the same base and finishes it with cedarwood and patchouli for the barber line.
Pick on scent, not on performance.
How to use
Shake. Mist over damp hair from roots to ends, concentrating on the mid-lengths, then scrunch with your hands and leave it to dry. Two to four passes for loose movement on fine hair, more for a defined wave on thicker hair. Works on natural curl as well — it adds grip without setting the curl hard.

Sea salt spray questions
Do you put sea salt spray on wet or dry hair? Damp is where it works best — towel-dried, not dripping. On soaking hair the salt dilutes and the VP/VA copolymer cannot form a film, so you lose the grip. On bone-dry hair you get texture but less shape.
Is salt spray damaging for hair? Salt draws moisture out, which is why a spray that is only salt and water leaves hair feeling like straw. This one carries glycerin, propylene glycol and butylene glycol as humectants plus three hydrolysed proteins, which is what keeps the texture from turning brittle. It still is not a leave-in conditioner: if your hair is already dry, use it on the mid-lengths and follow with a leave-in.
Should you use it before or after other products? First, on damp hair, before cream or oil. Anything with a film or an oil on it coats the strand and the salt then has nothing to grip.
How do you get the most texture out of it? Spray in sections, scrunch with your hands rather than combing, and let it air-dry or rough-dry on low. Brushing it out afterwards removes the grit you just built.
A hair styling powder that builds volume where wax cannot. Shaken onto dry roots it grips each strand and lifts it away from the scalp, creating body from the base rather than shape on the surface. The finish is completely matte, so fine hair reads as thicker rather than flatter.
Who it's for: fine, limp hair that goes flat by midday, and textured crops that need separation and grip without shine.
How to use: shake a small amount directly onto dry roots — a little goes a very long way — then work it in with your fingertips, lifting as you go. Never apply to damp hair; it needs a dry surface to grip.
Pairs with: matte wax through the lengths for hold, this powder at the roots for lift.
The firmest hold in the Morfose gel wax range, finished with high shine. It is water-based, so it sets like a gel but stays workable like a wax, and it rinses out cleanly with no flaking or white residue.
Who it's for: slicked-back and sharply defined styles that have to hold all day, on medium to thick hair. If you want texture rather than a set shape, the matte waxes suit you better.
How to use: a small amount on dry or barely damp hair, warmed between your palms until it turns clear, then worked from the back forward. Add a second pass rather than starting with too much.
What you'll notice: a firm, glossy finish that survives wind and a full day of wear. Water-based, so one wash removes it — no need for a clarifying shampoo.
The strongest of the three Ossion matte waxes. It holds a shape through the day without stiffening, and finishes completely dry — no gloss, no wet look. Water-based, so despite the grip it still rinses out with a normal wash.
Who it's for: styles that need to hold their shape all day — structured crops, defined fringes, sharp partings — on hair that lighter waxes let drop by the afternoon.
How to use: take a fingertip of wax, warm it between your palms and work it through clean, dry hair from the roots out. Shape with your fingers. Build up gradually; this one goes a long way.
In the range: the firm end of the Ossion matte trio, above Matte Pomade (medium) and Matte Putty (flexible).
One product for hair and beard, with a matte finish. The dual-use formula gives a strong but flexible hold and a subtle, natural look rather than shine — which is what makes it work on both. Non-greasy, and it washes out without leaving a sticky residue behind.
Who it's for: anyone who styles hair and beard together and wants control without the wet look — and anyone who would rather carry one product than two.
How to use: warm a small amount between your palms, then work through dry hair and beard with your fingers. Skip the comb on the beard if you want texture; use it if you want the shape sharper.
What you'll notice: all-day control with a natural matte finish that does not read as styled.
Medium Hold is the everyday wax in the Ossion barber range — the one that shapes hair without locking it. It gives enough grip to hold a side part, a textured crop or a swept-back style through the day, but the hair still moves and you can run your fingers through it without breaking the shape. The finish is lightly shiny rather than wet: visible condition, not visible product.
Who it's for: daily styling, medium-length hair, anyone who finds strong waxes stiff or heavy. If you restyle during the day, this is the one — it never sets hard, so it reworks with your hands and no extra product.
How to use: scoop a pea-sized amount, warm it between your palms until it turns clear, then work it through dry hair from the back forward. Start with less than you think; you can always add a second pass.
In the range: Medium sits at the soft end of the Ossion hold scale — Medium → Extra → Ultra → Mega. Matte Hold offers the same control with a shine-free finish.
The softest hold in the Ossion matte trio. The creamy putty texture spreads easily and leaves hair movable all day — you can run your hands through it and reshape without the style cracking. Matte finish, with water as the first ingredient.
Who it's for: anyone who wants texture and separation rather than a fixed shape, and shorter styles that only need light guidance. A good starting point if firmer waxes have felt heavy.
How to use: take a fingertip of putty, warm it between your palms and work it through clean, dry hair. Shape with your fingers and rework whenever you like.
In the range: the flexible end of the Ossion matte trio. Step up to Matte Pomade for medium hold or Matte Styling Wax for strong hold.

Morfose Slick Back Kit: Edge Control Wax Stick, Brilliantine Wax & Brush

A matte pomade built for hair that fights back. The medium-firm hold is strong enough to bring wavy or unruly hair into line, but the finish stays completely shine-free, so the result reads as natural texture rather than a set style. Water is the first ingredient, carried in ozokerite wax for the grip.
Who it's for: wavy and coarse hair that resists lighter products, and anyone who wants pomade-level control without the gloss a classic pomade leaves behind.
How to use: take a fingertip of wax, warm it between your palms and work it through clean, dry hair. Shape with your fingers. Apply to dry hair rather than damp — water dilutes the hold.
In the range: sits between Matte Putty (softer, flexible) and Matte Styling Wax (stronger, longer-lasting) in the Ossion matte trio.
A twist-up wax stick for the parts of a style a tub of wax is too blunt for: the flyaways along a parting, the baby hairs at the hairline, the edges of a short cut. You apply it straight from the stick, so it goes exactly where you point it and nowhere else — no product on your palms, no guessing how much you picked up.
Who it's for: anyone finishing a style rather than building one — slicked-back looks that need the edges kept clean, ponytails and buns with flyaways, and short cuts that need definition at the temples. Works on all hair types and lengths.
How to use: twist the base to raise the stick, then draw it directly over the hair you want to control and smooth it down with your fingers or a brush. Use on dry or slightly damp hair. Start with one pass — you can always add another.
In the range: this is a finishing product, not a styling base. Build the shape with a Morfose Gel Wax or Brilliantine first, then use the stick to tidy the edges.

Four jobs, and what does each
Every product below is linked to its own page, where the full ingredient list is published.
| If your hair… | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Hold that stays put all day | Ultra Aqua Wax — red$14.95 | Water-based, so it washes out with shampoo and can be reworked with damp hands. The firmest of the three colour-coded aqua waxes. |
| Hold, but softer and touchable | Super Aqua Wax — orange$14.95 | The everyday level. Enough structure for a normal day without setting hard. |
| Volume in fine or flat hair | Collagen Mousse$19.95 | Collagen and silk protein for body. Built for hair that volumising products usually weigh down. |
| Volume with the longest active list | Supreme Volumizing Mousse$20.95 | Biotin, collagen, panthenol, aloe, zinc and nettle. The one to pick if you want the mousse to condition as well as lift. |
| Gritty, undone, beachy texture | Sea Salt Spray$19.95 | Texture rather than hold. On damp hair for waves, on dry hair for grip. |
| Roots that need lift at the last minute | Ossion Styling Powder$18.95 | A matte powder you tap in at the roots. Works on hair that is already dry and styled. |
| Style has to survive the day outdoors | Supreme Finishing Spray$19.95 | Strong hold finishing spray, with the same active base as the Supreme mousse. |
| Hold without the stiffness | Quinoa & Hemp Spray$19.95 | Flexible hold with quinoa, hemp seed and panthenol. For hair you still want to move. |
| Dull, rough-looking ends | Shine Spray$19.95 | A finish, not a treatment. A light mist from a distance — too close and it goes greasy. |
| Flyaways and edges | Hair Wax Stick$13.95 | A stick you apply straight to the hairline, so no product ends up on your palms. |
| You want the scent to last, not the hold | Milk Therapy Perfume Mist$24.95 | A hair fragrance, not a styler. Nothing to wash out and no hold. |
| Detangling before you style anything | Detangling Brush$14.95 | Flexi-pin brush for wet hair. Styling starts here: hair you tore through wet will not hold a style well. |
The order to apply things
Most styling problems are sequence problems, not product problems.
On damp hair
Mousse and sea salt spray go on towel-dried hair and set as it dries. Applied to dry hair they do very little.
On dry hair
Wax, powder and pomade go on after drying. Emulsify wax between your palms until it turns clear — straight from the tub it clumps, and clumps look greasy.
Last
Hair spray and shine spray finish the style. Anything applied after them sits on top of a set surface and will not distribute.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between wax, gel wax and pomade?
In this range the aqua waxes are water-based gel waxes: they wash out with shampoo and can be reactivated with damp hands. The brilliantine is the pomade — shine-led rather than hold-led, for combed styles rather than textured ones.
Why does my hair look greasy after styling?
Almost always too much product, applied without emulsifying. Start with a pea for short hair, rub it between your palms until it turns clear and warm, and work from the back forward so the front gets the least.
Can I use mousse and wax together?
Yes, and it is the normal way to build a style. Mousse on damp hair for volume, dry it in, then wax on the dry hair for definition. The mistake is putting wax on wet hair, where it dilutes.
Which products wash out easily?
All the aqua waxes and the mousses are water-based and come out with one shampoo. The brilliantine and the oil-based pomades may need a clarifying wash.
